What was the wasteland?

T.S. Eliot—poet, literary critic, and profoundly thoughtful asshole—is proud to bring you an hour-long talk show so full of laughs that it'll make you love this empty modern life!

In The Wasteland Comedy Hour, Eliot assembled some of the greatest minds in comedy to present a postapocalyptic multi-media variety show. Each weekly installment of The Wasteland Comedy Hour featured an hour of new comedy, including stand-up, live music, interviews, sketches, and an infinite supply of postmodern laughs.

The Wasteland Comedy Hour played Fridays at 8pm in November & December, 2007, at the ImprovBoston theater in Cambridge, MA.

Why was the wasteland?

Our modern dilemma: we need to communicate our ideas, our opinions, our existence. Every day we are bombarded with information from others attempting the same communication. We love the media, and we hate it. The media provides the tools by which we attempt to navigate the deluge of modern life, and the media suffocates us with endless waves of white noise.

The Wasteland Comedy Hour attempted to harness the media to its fullest, tackling the issues of our modern lives through the lens of media literacy and, of course, comedy.
